    Detroit completed one of the US Open Cup's greatest comebacks on Tuesday night, coming from behind to beat Houston Dynamo. The hosts fell behind 2-0 after 40 minutes, but fought all the way back to send the game to extra-time, and then penalties – before winning a tense shootout 10-9.

    Detroit's win follows a trend of recent "cupsets" – situations in which USL teams knock out their MLS counterparts. Pittsburgh Riverhounds eliminated two top-division teams last year, while Sacramento Republic made the cup final the year before.

    Houston Dynamo head coach Ben Olsen played down the result: "It's a good punch in the face. But I think they'll respond. We have a good group in there and I think we have the right character to turn this into a positive."
